Many of us are familiar with CVS and how to shop for free (if not, click here to read our post about it). What you may NOT know though, is that they accept EBT / Food stamps. Now, the everyday person usually doesn’t think to shop at CVS for grocery items, but, this is something you may want to consider if you have an EBT / Food stamp card. Here’s why..

CVS does these wonderful deals, where you earn ECB’s for certain purchases. Sometimes those purchases are for food. Initially, I didn’t think they would allow you to get the ECB’s if you used an EBT / Food stamp card but I just got off the phone with corporate and they confirmed that you do in fact get ECB’s, regardless of whether you pay in cash or use food stamps. Awesome right?

This coming week at CVS (9/11 – 9/17) there’s a deal going on that is perfect for this situation. Spend $20 on select food items and earn $5 in ECB’s). Sweet!

On a side note, if you haven’t yet registered your CVS Extracare Card on the CVS website, go ahead an do that now. Once you sign up and agree to receive their emails, they’ll send you (via email) a coupon for $4 off a $20 purchase. These are highly sought after but hard to come by.  Look on the right side of the page (about halfway down) and you’ll see a square add that mentions the coupon. Click it.
