Some of you may already know about this but for those that don’t, stop missing out! You can listen to all of your FAVORITE songs, absolutely FREE! There are actually 2 programs that we FULLY recommend. Both of them will give you FREE music legally (and no risk of viruses).
The first is Spotify. Spotify is a program that allows you to listen to music, right on your computer. I’m actually using it right now, as I type this. They have pretty much any song you can think of (and then some). They do offer a premium service but it’s not necessary. The FREE option gets you all the songs. The only difference is that the free version has ads. By that, I mean that every 10 songs or so, you’ll hear an ad that says something like “Spotify is about sharing..blah blah blah”. It’s not a big deal and doesn’t take away from you rocking out.
In addition, Spotify is easily linked to your Facebook account, so your friends can see what you’re listening too and even listen with you. It’s pretty neat!
The second one we recommend is Pandora. Pandora is great because you can use it on your computer, your smart phone, your tablet and even your TV! Yes, I said TV! Many plasma TV’s come with the Pandora app already installed. You create your own stations and can listen to them on all 3 devices. For instance, I created a Glee station. What that means is, any songs that were/are on Glee (including their renditions) will play on that station. Also, any songs that are similar in style will play on there. If I like the song that plays, I give it a thumbs up. If I don’t, I give it a thumbs down…and it won’t play on there anymore.
Pandora also offers a premium service but again, it’s not necessary. The free version gives you “x” amount of hours to listen for free. Trust me when I say, it’s PLENTY! It’s something like 40 hours (per month).
As you can see, both programs are great. I use both. Spotify is my go to choice while at my computer, but Pandora is my favorite whlie cleaning the house. I just open the app on my TV and let’r play.
