I’ve known about this site for a long time, but wasn’t able to use it until I got my new phone. Last night I decided to check out some wallpapers and ringtones. I’ve been through the ‘Searching for free ringtones on google‘ routine before, and you normally end up with sites that charge you a monthly membership (which is not always clearly stated) or run the risk of getting a virus on your phone or computer. So I decided to stick with Myxer.com and give it a try since I got a new phone.

Myxer.com is awesome! Free ringtones, wallpapers, apps, mp3′s, and more! Some of the items on their site do require a fee, but it’s always clearly stated if they do. Plus you can sort by ‘Free’ items to make sure you only see the ones that are completely FREE. You can also make your own ringtones by uploading a song from your device, and selecting the part of the song you want to feature. I made a few of my own ringtones last night and it was super easy.

You can have your items sent via text to your phone (if you are doing it from a computer or device other than your phone) or save it to your computer to transfer via bluetooth, memory card, or usb data cable. If you choose to send via text message, please be aware that standard text message rates apply if you don’t have unlimited texting. I use Straight Talk with an unlimited plan and it didn’t cost me anything.

Since I am enjoying this site so much, I figured some of you would too (if you didn’t already know about it). I’ve snagged several ringtones and countless wallpapers and none of them cost me anything at all (note I did choose to sort by ‘free’ and only selected free items). Let us know if you use Myxer and what you think about it!!

If you have a blackberry or android phone, you can get the Myxer MP3 App for FREE as well!!
