It’s Friday, which means it’s time to update you all on my progress with Nutrisystem!
This week did not begin with a great start. Last Sunday, was Mother’s Day, as most of you are aware. I woke up to my sweet husband handing me a Sausage, Egg, and Cheese Croissant from Burger King. Sweet? Yes! Good?? Definitely!! Cheating?? Of course.
I had been doing really well not to cheat and stay on track with my goals and approved food. But it was Mother’s Day, after all. A day celebrating me and a special breakfast bought just for me. I could have let it go to waste, or even put it in the fridge for one of the girls the next day. But I decided I had been doing good on the program and one croissant on a special day wouldn’t hurt me that much.
I have to say it tasted GREAT, haha! I really love their croissants and normally do not eat them often. I ended up not having my protein shake (or smart carbs, power fuels, lunch) that day to try to make up for all the calories I took in with that one croissant. I went back to Nutrisystem food for dinner.
The Nutrisystem food has really been great. There’s only a couple of things that haven’t been “my cup of tea”. Overall I am extremely impressed with their foods. They are all seasoned well and nothing has really been bland. The sweets are sweet, the snacks are good, and it’s all very filling (especially when you add in grocery foods like fresh veggies). Now, that doesn’t mean that I’m not still tempted watching the rest of the family chow down on KFC or Nutty Buddy Bars. Overcoming the urge to dive in with them has been a challenge, but it’s doable.
Fast forward and we’re at the end of the week. All week I’ve had my scale say I gained 0.5lbs one day, lost 0.5lbs the next – back and forth literally all week. I really think something may be wrong with my scale – but I haven’t gotten a new digital scale yet, so ol’ faithful will have to work.
I’ve maintained drinking my required 64 ounces of water each week (using the Nutrisystem Water Bottle of course) and usually drinking more than that (between 80-96 ounces). I still have not had a regular coca-cola since I started (which again is HUGE for me). I’ve yet to have any coffee (although it is allowed), which is another shocker for me.
For my “Daily 3″ activities I’ve been continuing to do housework, which as most of you know never ends, haha! Laundry, cleaning floors, scrubbing tubs/showers, vacuuming, etc. I’ve also continued to do my workout video’s on Netflix, changing it up each day. I do dance workout video’s everyday for 20-30 minutes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I try to do the suggested exercise on my “Daily 3″ page. This week I did Pilates on Tuesday and back to Yoga on Thursday. Both days I also still did my dance workouts. I’m really feeling the soreness in pretty much all of my muscles, which makes me think I’m doing something right. I should note that I’ve not been one to really exercise since getting out of school. I’m excited to start seeing a difference in my muscle tone – which hopefully will be soon!!
With all of that being said, these are all HUGE life changes for me. Like really Huge! It’s not easy, but it’s not really hard either. It’s all about your mind-set and determination, along with support from great friends (like Renee, The Christmas Fairy, and Must Love Coupons) and family. Without my support system, I don’t think I would be as motivated to keep going with all of these changes.
I managed to lose another pound this week, not a huge loss – but it’s better than a gain…right?!? Plus I did cheat so that could be why. Regardless a loss is a loss, and I’m marking this week down as an overall success! I plan to keep sticking to my goals and increasing my water and exercise even more next week. Wish me luck!
OH! And measurements will be coming soon!! I took them at the very beginning, but my toddlers have run off with my tape measure – so an update is coming as soon as I find it.
Things I’ve learned throughout week 2:
- Cheating makes you feel guilty and really is not worth it.
- Making several new life changes at once isn’t easy, but definitely something to be proud of.
- I hate my scale.
- Giving up regular cokes has really been the easiest of all changes I’ve made.
- I love my friends and family, even more each day, for their awesome support throughout my life and most recent goals.
Some of my favorite Nutrisystem foods this week:
- Tuna Salad
- Banana Nut Muffin
- Chef’s Table™ Steak Tagliata
- Chocolate Protein Shake
- Cheese Puffs
- Starting Weight: 140 lbs.
- Weightloss after 12 days: 5.5 lbs.
- Current Weight (5/11/12): 134.5 lbs
- Goal Weight: 115 lbs.
Again, I just want to add that my weight goal is approximate. I am really more concerned with where the fat comes off, as in losing the kangaroo pouch belly, and overall…being healthy.
